Shopping

This was the weekend of shopping for me.

I gave in to the consumer world that we live in for the past two days. It felt weird, but good at the same time. I am not what you would call a "shopper". I really do not buy things unless they are a necessity.

I had my first visit to the Gilroy Outlets. It was overwhelming and exhausting. However, I should have enough work clothes now to last me two weeks worth of clothes. Hopefully the clothes will last me a few years overall.

I also had my first trip to a grocery store with a friend with a car in the past four months. I sure did stock up on the basics. I knew that I would not have the opportunity to return to a store with someone with a car for a while and do not take the time to do it as often as I should. Eating out really adds up when you look at the lack of food you have.

It is interesting, I am not one to give in to the American consumer society. I am not one of those people who suffer from CSP (Complusive Spending Disorder) but having a shoppping spree this weekend really made me see how it is so easy to have.

I think that it is the fact that I am actually making money for the first time in two years that I feel comfortable spending it. The life of a broke student sucks but there is a pay off in the end.
