I have now learned the why of group work.
For the past two years I never really understood the why behind instructors assigning "group work". No one ever really works together as a group to get the project done. My understanding was that in the "real world" there was no group work.
However, in the past few weeks I have learned that in order for an office to run smoothly there needs to be communication throughout. Not necesarily group work per say, but explaining to everyone that you work with the why and how of what you are doing.
This is important becasue if the one person who knows how everything runs and is organized leaves the said office or "group" everyone still knows where things are and how they run.
"Group work" does not encourage people to work together rather to communicate to each the exact parts of the project that they are doing and how it works on the project as a larger whole.
Sometimes I need to be in another realm of learning to learn that which I realized I have already learned.
